Snooker and Billiards at Ansty
Ansty Sports Club run three snooker and one billiards team playing in the Mid Sussex Billiards and Snooker League. The League is highly competitive with just over 30 teams playing regularly in snooker and billiards league and cup action. Ansty A compete in Division One of the Mid Sussex Snooker League on Thursday evenings throughout the Winter. Ansty B and Ansty C compete in Division Two of the Mid Sussex Snooker League, also playing on Thursday evenings. Ansty A compete Mid Sussex Billiards League Division One, playing on Tuesday evenings.
The Mid Sussex Billiards and Snooker League also organise numerous cup competitions that members can enter. The competitions include: Harper Coronation Snooker Cup and Plate, May’s Monday Cup, Championship Open Snooker (Individuals), Stoner Cup, Percy Larkin Memorial Charity Cup (Snooker Trebles), Keith Hamer Memorial Grandmasters, The Dennis Wakeford Trophy, and the Lanaway Doubles.
Back to Snooker Nights
The Club is keen to recruit new players for league and social snooker. Our Wednesday evening, 7.00 to 11.00pm, Back to Snooker Nights are an opportunity for the occasional player to enjoy snooker in a social setting. Often played with six reds in the pack and a 20 minute frame the games are quick, engaging and fun and are ideal for the people new to game or those wishing to return to it. All members are welcome.
Booking a Table
All you need to play snooker or darts at Ansty is a social membership.
League games take place on Thursday (Snooker) and Tuesday (billiards, once every four weeks) throughout September to March.
The tables are available to members at any other time the Club is open and can be booked at the bar.
Snooker tokens cost only £1 for every 20 minutes play.
