Football has been a part of the Ansty sports club for a very long time, with its first season beginning in 1958/59. The club has since been through many positive changes, with the football section being reformed in 2002 it has gone from strength to strength.
With the team working their way through the leagues from Division 6, to Division 1 along the way picking up various bits of silverware including the Sommerville Challenge Cup and the Edgar German Cup. The same players have been involved throughout which makes it an extraordinary club to be a part of.
As it stands today, the 2021/22 season has just come to an end with the club earning promotion finishing 2nd in Division 3 South and competing in the Semi Final of the Sommerville Challenge Cup. The team has been established over a number of years, with a great spirit and an amazing atmosphere it will continue to be a great place to play.
This is an exciting time at Ansty, with the football club looking to reform the second team which will be a mixture of old hands and younger players graduating from youth football in Mid Sussex and who are now looking to step up into the senior leagues. With the great facilities available to the club and the influx of exciting new players Ansty FC is looking to build on the successes of 2021/22.
This is not the only change at the club. We have also been joined by our new sponsor PNC Business Credit and would like to welcome them and thank them for their support, providing us with a great new home and away kit.
